SIG Cabinet Director, Shelly Warwick
Shelly Warwick is Director of the Touro-Harlem Medical Library in New York City. She has also served as director of Leon Ginsberg Library at Beth Israel Hospital, the Russell Hibbs Memorial Library at the then Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital and was an Instructional Media Librarian at Baruch College, City University of New York. For a number of years she was faculty at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College, City University of New York. She earned the Ph.D. degree from Rutgers, the M.L.S. from Queens College, and a B.F.A. in Theatre from the University of Connecticut. Her research focus is information policy with an emphasis on intellectual property issues.
Her ASIS&T activities started with the Metropolitan New York Chapter where she first served as Newsletter Editor and went on to be Chair of the chapter. On the national level she has served on the Membership Committee, the Watson-Davis Award Committee, the Nominating Committee, as SIG Advisor, and as Chair of each of SIG-TIS and SIG-IFP. She has organized many local chapter events and sessions at annual, as well as presenting her own research. Beyond ASIS&T she is a member of ALA, ACRL and MLA, and for many years served on the ALA Intellectual Property Sub-Committee.
