Chapter Assembly Director, Beata Panagopoulos



Beata Panagopoulos has been Head of Technical Services at the Kennedy School of Government Library at Harvard University for the past fifteen years. She has been an active contributor to both the Harvard University Library and Kennedy School communities by serving on committees focusing on serials cataloging policy and improving the work environment for KSG staff. Most recently she has been working with many other Harvard librarians to ensure a smooth transition to Harvard's new integrated library system. She has also been the Coordinator of the KSG Ombuds Program for twelve years. Beata has a B.A. in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an M.S. from Simmons GSLIS.

Active in the New England Chapter of ASIS&T since 1993, Beata has served as Program Committee Chair, Chair of the Board, and most recently, as Membership Chair. She also conducts the chapter's annual student travel award competition. In 1998, she won the ASIS&T Chapter Member of the Year award. As Chair of SIG Pub, she organized two panels for ASIS&T annual meetings. She has also served on various ASIS&T committees, including Nominations and Leadership Development.
