(Submission #178)
This study adopted sense-making theory as the theoretical framework, and employed in-depth qualitative interviews with college students to understand their perceptions of the mixed messages in tanning-related health information. We report on the gap/inconsistency perceived by college students and their gap-bridging strategies to make sense of the mixed health information. Practical suggestions for health campaign developers and health information providers are discussed.
