Officer Biographies



Chair - Susan Wells Parham
Susan Wells Parham is Research Data Librarian at the Georgia Tech Library and Information Center where she provides direction for the library's program in digital research data curation. She chairs the Research Data Project Team, which conducts research into the data curation needs and practices of GT researchers, and is developing coordinated data curation services with campus partners. Parham has a background in the management of digital library technologies and services.




Chair-elect - Marisa Ramirez
Marisa is the Digital Repository Librarian at Cal Poly and is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of the DigitalCommons@CalPoly, a digital repository that provides online open access to scholarship and research produced by Cal Poly faculty and students. The repository also provides access to relevant documents created by administrative offices, departments and programs at Cal Poly.
Marisa served as 2010-2011 SIG DL Treasurer and is serving as 2011-12 SIG DL Chair-Elect.




Communications - Tina Jayroe
Tina is SIG DLÕs Communication Officer and has been an ASIS&T member since 2007. She is a PhD student/IMLS fellow at the University of WisconsinÐMilwaukee's School of Information Studies. S he received her MLIS is from the University of Denver and is an ASIS&T 2010 New Leaders awardee. Her dream came true when she presented at SIG/CON 2010 goo.gl/xbV0i and she loves Noam Chomsky.




Treasurer - Betsy Martens Betsy is an Associate Professor at the School of Library & Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma. Her most recent publication is "Approaching the Anti-Collection" (Library Trends, spring 2011). In addition to a doctorate in Information Transfer, she holds both an MBA and an MLS. During her career, she has worked in the academic, financial, and news publishing sectors. She is the current (2011) communications officer for SIG DL.




Membership - Anne Diekema
Anne is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences at Utah State University. Her research interests are in digital libraries, information retrieval, information organization, and human information behavior. Anne is especially interested in the use of technology to assist teachers and students in finding information in educational digital libraries. Currently, she is teaching aspiring school librarians as part of the School Library Media Administration program. As the current membership officer of SIG DL, Anne consolidated SIG DL membership lists from ASIS&T, the SIGDL listserv, Facebook, and LinkedIn. One of the membership challenges of SIG DL is how to get non-members who are part of the our social networking venues, to become SIG DL members.




Webmaster - Eugenia Kim Eugenia is a Data Services Specialist and Visiting Assistant Professor with the Purdue University Libraries. She holds an MS in Information Science from University at Albany (SUNY) and a BS in Electronic Media, Arts and Communication from RPI. Her primary research interest is in digital dance preservation. Eugenia was a 2010 ARL Career Enhancement Program Fellow, a 2011 REACH21 scholarship recipient for the Spectrum Leadership Institute (ALA), and an ASIS&T 2011 New Leaders awardee. As the 2010-2011 Webmaster for SIG DL, Eugenia worked with officers to add a Twitter feed to the website and make more effective use of the wiki space. She also organized a student presentation panel reflecting the SIG DL mission for the 2011 Annual Meeting.
