SIGVIS Members,
We would like to put together at least two submissions for this year's ASIS&T Conference in Pittsburgh. The call this year has been substantially altered from the CFP in years past; have a look at http://www.asis.org/Conferences/AM10/am10cfp.html to get a handle on the tracks and the types of submissions they are looking for this year.
The behind-the-scenes scuttlebutt is that ASIS&T is looking to make a serious change in what is presented and in how the conference is run, so that the content is more useful and more engaging than it recently has been. This means that they are limiting (but not eliminating) the number of straight paper presentations and traditional panels in favor of more interactive ways of presenting and discussing our research.
You can send proposals to me privately and I will see to it that whatever connections can be made, will be made. The submission deadline is May 31, so while we have some, time, it's better to get it done early.
Many Thanks,
Chris Landbeck
