Nancy Blase, SIG Cabinet Representative
Nancy Blase is the Head of the Natural Sciences Library at the University of Washington.She has a BA degree (Biology major, Chemistry minor) from Marietta College, and a MLS from the University of Illinois (with a N.S.F. Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Science).
She has worked for the U.C.L.A. Biomedical Library Brain Information Service, the University of Washington Health Sciences Library, and the University of Washington Natural Sciences Library.
Nancy has been a member of ASIS for more than 25 years, and has served our Society in numerous capacities at the local and national levels, including, Chair, Pacific Northwest Chapter (twice); Secretary, SIG/BC (now SIG/STI); Chair, SIG/PC; Chair, Professionalism Committee (two years); Chair, Constitution and Bylaws Committee (three years); and member of the Membership Committee.
She is a member of six ASIS special interest groups. Nancy has published in the medical information field, and has served as President of the University of Washington Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (three years).
