Duncan now works at the World Bank in Washington D.C. Duncan remains a member of ASIST. Here is a note from him about his current job at World Bank:
"As Information Analyst at the Bank, I am responsible for Global outreach programmes and research. Under global outreach, I work closely with all country offices in designing model country office public information centres and libraries, training of country office staff on library and information management and advising on electronic information resources available to country office staff. Under research, I offer reference services on sectoral areas such as health, nutrition, population, education, finance etc to both Bank and Fund staff."

After serving the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for more than 11 years I have been appointed the Chief Librarian for IIT Bombay. It is not easy to get an offer for the Librarian's post in India. I have been trying for such a position for past 4 -5 years. Dear Collagues,
"Because I won the ASIST competition, a lot of opportunities have come my way. The Indonesian Foundation of R&D for Telecommunication and Information Technology (YLTI) asked me to write an implementation proposal for a Small Medium Enterprise (SME) information network, which will be under the network I originated and reported on, the Indonesia Digital Library Network. After seeing my paper on the cover of the ASIST Bulletin I was asked to become a World Bank Development Gateway cooperating agency. I reminded them when I was invited to Washington last November 2001 to give my paper for ASIST I presented the project at the World Bank in Washington and also met with the InfoDev manager at the same time to inform them about the project. I believe with this cooperation, we can help each other to build a bridge to overcome the digital divide. Since winning of the ASIST Award, IndonesiaDLN has received much attention from other institutions. Especially from our donor, IDRC. IDRC will publish a review about successful projects and one of them is my project. My professor, the promotor of my PhD in Holland, is also interested to receive a copy of my winning paper.Trust me, your effort in promoting the ASIST Award and its winning paper is a great help for us. It is helpful to us in encouraging our communities and especially our institution leaders to support this effort.
