- Organizers: Elaine Toms and Anita Komlodi
- Committee: Amanda Spink, Jim Jansen, Luanne Freund
The interactivity associated with information-intensive environments demands complex tools, innovative forms of interaction, and novel ways of visualizing and representing content. On November 5th, 2006, SIG-HCI held a half-day research symposium in which we examined many of the issues that drive HCI in this context. The event was held as part of the ASIS&T conference in Austin, Texas and had over 40 attendees. Thanks to all who took part!
Keynote Presentation: Jenny Preece, University of Maryland: Human Centred Computing -- Going Beyond HCI.
The workshop program and links to workshop papers and posters are available.
Awards for best paper and best poster were sponsored by the I-School at the University of Texas. Best poster was awarded to Heather O'Brien (right) and best paper to Carolyn Watters (middle), both of Dalhousie University, Halifax.
