3 Ways to Find Things(This slide was added after the conference)
Known Item Searching - you know what you are looking for.
EX: Veggie burgers at the supermarket
Unknown Item Searching - You have a general idea of what you are looking for because it is related to a mental reference point you have established
EX: You enjoyed the ASIS conference and would like to attend other related events
Serendipity - You’re not really looking for anything in particular. But, something could jump out at you.
EX: You’re just browsing, not really looking for anything special. But then, the ‘gotta have it’ item reveals itself - the bookstore image.
