Pasadena

Pasadena, the "City of Roses," lies in the foothills of the beautiful San gabriel mountains (in the Angeles National Forest), only 10 miles north of the Los Angeles Civic Center. Well-known for its annual Tournament of Roses parade and Rose Bowl, Pasadena is also a center of world-class museums, cultural and performing arts, historic turn-of-the-century architecture, dining, and shopping. From mountains caressed by the sun, through gardens radiant with roses, to extraordinary turn-of-the-century architecture, there is nowhere else quite like Pasadena.

Contrary to popular opinion there is, in fact, weather in southern California. The climate in Pasadena is considered sub-tropical and semi-arid. The average May temperature is a pleasant 75 degrees high and 51 degrees low. A light jacket or sweater is suggested for evenings and the unpredictability of indoor air conditioning.

For more detailed information on Pasadena and area activities, please see the information provided by the ASIS Los Angeles Chapter at: http://www.usc.edu/isd/friends/orgs/lacasis/pasadena/index.html.
