How do Scientists Build Their Collaboration Network? The Case of Canadian Nanotechnology Sector

Summary
This submission is an abstract for research in progress work studying the partner selection mechanisms within the Canadian nanotechnology collaboration network. The objective of this study is to detect the patterns of the collective knowledge sharing between scientists within this network and to identify the factors which affect scientists' selection of collaboration partners. The study is based on real data collected from Scopus database about the publications in nanotechnology field by authors affiliated to Canadian institutions.
