Corporate Identification and Disclosure of Knowledge Assets

Jesper Kallehauge

A corporate knowledge asset identification and knowledge asset classification model is developed for application to corporate Intellectual Capital (IC) reporting disclosure in a balance sheet format. Corporate knowledge assets are primarily defined to be either within or outside the International Accounting Standard 38 for intangible assets. The implications of the corporate knowledge asset identification and classification model is potentially an improved comprehensive and systematically approach for corporate knowledge asset identification and classification. If sustainable and comprehensive implemented, the model can lead to improved corporate transparency, fair asset valuation, accurateness, and comprehensiveness of the corporate knowledge assets.
