Wachovia.Com Redesign Project Saturday, 2:15 - 3:00 Session One Samantha Bailey Wachovia.Com Redesign Project Samantha Bailey, BaileySorts.com Samantha Bailey is the lead information architect for the Wachovia.com redesign project. This case study outlines the successes and failures of a 9 month project to create a new Wachovia.com (http://www.wachovia.com) website following the merger of Wachovia and First Union. With the merger, Wachovia Corporation became the fourth largest financial services institution in the US. Any large-scale site redesign is a challenging project; the merging of two existing sites and the introduction of a new brand poses made this an exponentially more difficult task. Several goals were set and met, including launching the website to coincide with our first regional conversion, extending our new brand online, and using a user centered design methodology to create an integrated navigation scheme, aesthetic, content treatment and tone for the new site.
