Research and Practice: What Are We Teaching About Personal Information Management?

Deborah Barreau, Laura O'Neill and Amanda Stevens

(Submission #85)

Personal information management (PIM) is an emerging field of inquiry, engaging researchers from more than a dozen countries and more than fifty academic and research institutions. The purpose of this research is to examine the status of PIM from a pedagogical perspective. Analysis of academic Web sites identified only a few courses on the topic or courses that include the topic. Researchers with teaching responsibilities are being surveyed to assess how PIM is addressed in the curriculum. The poster will report results of the survey.
