(Submission #10)
The study examines a two-step model for video key-frame determination. We reviewed the previous studies on image relevance and users’ cognitive understanding of images. Then, we conducted a preliminary study to identify users’ frames recognition pattern. Based on the literature review and our findings from the preliminary study, we constructed a two-step model for key-frame determination. Compared to the mechanical method which chops video every seconds (or minutes) to extract key-frames, the two-step model showed better accuracy in identifying the content of a video.
