Putting Your Taxonomy to Work - CANCELLED

Full Day Seminar, Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, 9:00am-5:00pm (separate fee)

Building the taxonomy is the fun part. Putting it into use in search, in the website portal, tagging the content objects and in document creation is more complex.

This workshop takes the attendee through a series of case examples. We begin with the creation of the taxonomy from existing resources such as indexes, current categorization lists or other adaptable taxonomies. Next we discuss the application of the taxonomy terms to the information objects such as full text, PDF, paragraph level tagging and URL tagging. Lastly we talk about using the taxonomy to maximize the recall and precision in search. Come learn from real world examples how taxonomies are implemented and made cost effective.
