ASIS&T 2008 Annual Meeting (AM08 2008)
Columbus, Ohio, October 24-29, 2008
Summary
This poster will present a work in progress that explores how university faculty and other stakeholders make sense of an institutional repository (IR) as well as how their perceptions and interpretations influence the use and implementation of IRs in university settings. The poster will present a research framework inspired by Orlikowski’s ideas of “technology-in-practice” (2000), “technological frame” (1996), as well as Scott’s (2001) theory addressing the regulative, normative, and cultural-cognitive aspects of institutional practices; it will also report preliminary findings from 1-2 study sites.
