Abstract

This short paper will explore the development and evaluation of a student led discussion approach in a research-oriented university online graduate level course. Communication strategies used by student facilitators when moderating online text-based discourse will be discussed. Participants will be asked to share their experiences and models for the design and evaluation of a student led discussion approach in their online courses and to generate a discussion about their use of different methods for assisting student facilitators in developing their discourse-moderating skills.
