Abstract

With the growth of information on the Web, users can perform more complex information seeking tasks. Users may finish tasks during one single session using their web browser, while other tasks may require the user to complete the task over many sessions.

In this poster we present our ongoing research of exploring how users perform tasks on the Web that occur over multiple browser sessions. We introduce two types of multiple browser sessions that may effect users’ task behaviour. We also outline a diary study that investigates how users perform web tasks over multiple sessions.
