Abstract
Traditional performance measures in computer-mediated communication research focus on performance time and quality. While communication process analyses provide us a deep understanding of performance outcomes with rich qualitative discourse analysis, it often lacks an appropriate method to reveal the relationship among individual communication activity codes. Social network analysis fills this gap by providing a way to visualize and analyze relationships between communication activity codes. In this paper we have illustrated an example of using social network software to analyze the communication pattern in a negotiation task.
