Abstract

The panel will discuss the growing use of blogs (web logs) and online community, and how information science can track impacts through the use of citation analysis, SNA (social network analysis) and other tools. The topic areas proposed for this conference panel are: • Personal and Work Environments: Crossing cultural divides through blogging • Blogs and Science Community: How blogs affect social behavior of scientists and impact on traditional citation analysis in science • Blogs and nursing practice community: The application of BLOGS in Medical/Nursing Informatics for Medication Error Management • Digital democracy in e-government: a user-centered perspective in e-voting system was proposed to support information gathering, organizing and sharing, deliberation, decision making, and voting.
