This year's workshop will critically examine knowledge organization in action, that is, how, why and by and for whom knowledge organization operates. It is of critical importance that the knowledge organization research community investigates such issues as they influence on how users employ systems of knowledge organization, how they perceive them and what they expect of them. Thus, the understandings and reflections produced by knowledge organization research should be used to explain and reveal to users what systems of knowledge organization mediate, whose discourses speak and do not
