Sparking Synergies: Bringing Research and Practice Together @ ASIST '05 (ASIS&T 2005)
Westin Charlotte, Charlotte, North Carolina, October 28 - November 2, 2005
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the marking and navigational patterns of users interact-ing with electronic documents. The resulting interactions were monitored and electronically logged for both private and shared environments, providing us with user-navigational patterns taxonomy. As a result of our investigation, we were able to create a set of specific recommenda-tion that system designers can use in order to create better, more intuitive, and user-friendly elec-tronic reading and marking systems.
