Information retrieval systems and related factors are analyzed from an artistic aspect. Creation and appreciation of works of art share the same processes of imitation and imagination with information retrieval. An analogy is made between Information Retrieval Languages(IRLs), indexing, retrieval and artistic creation. Aesthetic aspects can be introduced in evaluating information retrieval system. Limitations and future research topics related to this perspective are offered.
