Five Easy Ways To Register!

Special Rates
The early registration deadline has been extended. Sign up by September 28, 2001 to receive our special early bird rates!

ASIST and Sister Society Members: Members in good standing of ASIST or one of our sister societies—the Special Libraries Association, the Medical Libraries Association, and the American Association of Law Libraries—qualify for member rates. Include the name of your association and your membership number on the registration form.

If you are not already a member of the ASIST family, sign up when you register and you will qualify for the membership rate. The total package—a one-year membership and admission to the conference—is less than the non-member rate for the conference alone.

First-timer: If this is your first ASIST conference OR if you have never taken an ASIST continuing education course you can save an extra $75 off your total registration fees if you sign up for the full conference and any full-day CE course.  This offer is not available at student or retiree rates.

One-day Rates: If you can't join us for the whole conference, take advantage of our special one-day rates! Early bird and member rates are also available on single-day registrations

Other: Student and retiree rates are available for both members and non-members of ASIST.

Cancellations and Refunds
We will honor all cancellation and refund requests received in writing before October 5, 2001. Unfortunately, we can not issue refunds after this date. All refunds will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Refund checks will be issued six to eight weeks after the conference. Special event fees are non-refundable.

Annual Banquet and Proceedings
Anyone registering for the full conference (except for students) will receive one admission ticket to the Awards Banquet, which will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2001, and a copy of the Proceedings. Additional banquet tickets or copies of the Proceedings may be purchased on site.

A Special Note to the Disabled

Special Travel Announcement

Washington's Reagan National Airport is scheduled to reopen October 4, but with limited flights. Though it is expected to increase its capacity, there may be restrictions on incoming flights.

Alternatives to National:

Washington Dulles Airport:    Has shuttle buses (Washington Flyer) to the Washington subway system, Metro.  The Orange Line from West Falls Church requires no transfer to get to Metro Center, the closest to the J.W. Marriott Hotel.  The cost from Dulles to the West Falls Church Metro stop is $8 one way, $14 round trip, takes 25-30 minutes and runs every 30 minutes. [Recently Washington Flyer discontinued service to the downtown hotels.]  The URL for the Washington Metrorail system is http://www.wmata.com/

Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI): (There usually are less expensive fares into and out of BWI than to either Dulles or Reagan National airports.)

SuperShuttle service is available to and from most hotels in the Washington D.C.  Tickets can be purchased at the WCC terminal at Super Shuttle's BWI Airport transportation desk located in the baggage claim level of Pier C.  To arrange service to BWI, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 1-800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826).  Rates range from $26 to $32 each way; additional passengers $8 each way.   Express Service fare is $24 one-way, and $40 round trip per person.
