Abstract of Presentation:
An entirely new language that tightly combines words and visual elements is emerging around the globe. ItŐs nothing less than a new, international auxiliary language, composed of vocabularies as diverse as diagramming and cartooning. It will be vital for communicators, educators and managers to use this new language to understand the complex problems that face organizations and technology. Gain insight into the problems and opportunities of communicating through the web where visual language has become widely used and misused.

About the Speaker:
Robert E. Horn has authored a pathfinding new book, Visual Language: Global Communication for the 21st Century (publisher: MacroVU, Inc) and educates national and international groups about this visual language. He teaches courses in visual language at major U.S. companies and is a visiting scholar at Stanford University. He is also a pioneer in hypertext having authored Mapping Hypertext, a book that focuses on how to manage the complex structure of information.
