Abstract of Presentation:
Today, an organization's Web site is its central nervous system, where critical business functions, from customer service to employee relations to e-commerce, take place. In this Web-centric business environment, content is more important than ever, and the need to keep it timely, fresh and personalized is critical. Outdated or erroneous Web content can lead customers, partners or employees to faulty decisions or conclusions, and bring a business to its knees.

As the Web grows in importance, so does its complexity. Today, Web sites must aggregate content from both technical and non-technical workers across organizations and manage millions of pages of business-critical Web content on a minute-by-minute basis. To ensure that they successfully manage these increasingly complex sites, more and more companies today are turning to Web content management systems. Superior content management solutions must deliver on three fronts: content creation; content management; and content assembly.

About the Speaker:
George Chitouras is Vice President of Engineering for eBusiness Technologies, where he is responsible for developing and enhancing the company's product line. Chitouras has been building commercial software since 1984, and has designed, developed and delivered more than 12 commercial software products including natural language processing software; information retrieval tools; fuzzy relational database searching; high-end, standards-base electronic publishing software; and dynamic Web publishing and content management systems. Chitouras joined eBusiness Technologies in 1991. Previously, he worked at DISC of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Allen Associates of Wakefield, Massachusetts. He received a BSCS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
