ASIST at LIDA 2005

The European Chapter of ASIST participated actively at the Libraries in the Digital Age 2005 conference in Dubrovnik and Mljet, Croatia, 28 May – 1 June 2005, beginning with a panel discussion about ASIST-EC and the new ASIST-EC student chapter led by Ms. Mabrouka El Hachani, a student at ENSSIB, France. She also presented a poster concerning the new student chapter.

At the closing banquet, five free student memberships were selected by lottery. The memberships were donated by Dr. Gary Marchionini, University of North Carolina; Dr. Christine Borgman, UCLA; Emil Levine, chapter advisor; Tatjana Aparac, chapter chair, and her husband,University of Osijek, Croatia; and the ASIST EC chapter.

An ASIST breakfast was held the final day of the conference for ASIST members, students and prospective members. Mr. Levine was presented an award by students for his support over the past several years.
