			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The OCLC usability lab was established in 1990 as one of the first Usability Labs in the Central<br />
Ohio area. It was the post-doctoral project of Mike Prasse, who has been manager of the ULab<br />
since its beginning. This presentation will a history of the ULab (now in its third incarnation), and<br />
will include various tidbits of do’s and don’ts when establishing and running a usability lab in a<br />
large corporation.</p>

<p><strong>PRESENTER</strong>:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mike Prasse, Ph.D.</span><br />
has worked in the field of usability evaluation (today known as ‘User Experience’ or UX) for over<br />
25 years. He received his B.A. in mathematics and psychology in 1976 from the University of<br />
Southern California and his doctorate in experimental psychology in 1987 from The Ohio State<br />
University. He has published numerous articles and presentations over the past 20 years, with<br />
his latest being a comparison of the Google search results page with that of worldcat.org, using<br />
eye-tracking data. He lives with his wife Judi and their five dogs, making his favorite hobby by<br />
necessity studying the psychology of dogs and its application to training them!</p>
