This is my site Written by Jessica Hedgecock on August 4, 2009 – 6:30 PM

A special program, co-sponsored by the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Society for Information Science & Technology (CO-ASIS&T) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA) on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at The Columbus Dispatch:

What types of information and systems does a  news library (and a newspaper) use?  We’ll answer that question by looking at the information systems, tools and the physical facilities of the editorial library at the Columbus Dispatch.  The Dispatch uses a variety of open source tools to build and present the Dispatch’s editorial intranet.  Come and see what’s involved in providing research information to a news organization.

Presenter Julie Albert, Information Specialist for the Columbus Dispatch, has an MLS from Kent State University and a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from OSU.  Join us for this program, specially co-sponsored by CO-ASIS&T and the SLA.  This program is free, however, registration is limited.

WHEN:  Tuesday, August 4th, 2009
6:30 – 7:00 pm – Refreshments and Networking
7:00 – 8:00 pm – Presentation, Tour and Q & A
WHERE:  The Columbus Dispatch, 34 South Third Street, Columbus OH 43215
