Recently, our student country representative from Austria, Stefan Dreisiebner, visited us in Düsseldorf, Germany as part of the Erasmus lecture mobility program. Here, he was introduced to everyone in the department of information science at Heinrich Heine University. His visit was a great chance for us to learn more about the research projects of Stefan and his colleagues from Graz. Stefan is not only involved in research around information literacy and information literacy evaluation, but also an expert in MOOCs (Massive Open online Courses). Highlight were his two presentations:
- Trends in e-learning: MOOCs Experiences with the MOOC platform iMooX at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz
- Imparting and evaluation of information competence: Presentation of current research results and projects at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz
We and the other students from Düsseldorf surely learned a lot and had the possibility to ask specific questions, thanks to him! Besides, those exchanges also offer time for interesting and exciting discussions. He also got a closer insight into our current research projects. Of course, there was also time to do some sightseeing and enjoy some drink and food together: For example typical “Alt”-beer from Düsseldorf and German Blutwurst. As you can see, these exchanges are not only about research! 😉
We would like to thank Stefan for visiting us and hope to see him again soon! We are also looking forward to more visits from other chapter members from around the world! If you want to get in touch, do not hesitate to say “hi”.
See you soon,
your European Student Chapter Board
