Implementing Interactive Multimedia and Hypermedia

Description:

This workshop will introduce you to ways that technologies such as multimedia and hypermedia can be used in information settings. Applications in information management, digital libraries, training, entertainment, communication, and collaboration will be used to illustrate how tools for information seeking (e.g., queries, browsers), data capture (e.g., scanners, cameras, microphones), data transformation (e.g., compression, ADC, DCA), storage (magnetic, optical), and manipulation and presentation (authoring, navigating) are used. The session will be framed by brief consideration of hypermedia and multimedia principles and issues and trends.
