The ASIS&T Board recently sent a letter to ALA's Office of Accreditation expressing concern regarding a January report of the ALA Library Education Task Force. The Board was concerned that the report advocates for a regressive narrowing of the curriculum of LIS programs. You can read the full text of the Board's response here.

The 10th annual IA Summit was held Friday, March 20, 2009 to Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Peabody Memphis hotel in Memphis, TN, USA. Pre-conference workshops were held March 18-19.  We celebrated both where we've been and our excitement about the future as our field continues to mature, this year's theme was "Expanding Our Horizons."
